Colourful Cooperation

Project Description

Colourful Cooperation, as the very title suggests, is a colourful, dynamic cooperation between citizens and visitors of the bordering region between Hungary and Serbia, which welcomes everyone to participate in its programmes. Thanks to the local customs and cultural colourfulness in one of the most interesting regions of Europe, in the territory of the DKMT Euroregion, there are Bács-Kiskun and Csongrád counties, as well as the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. In these areas, many nations have lived together for centuries, preserving their tradition and their customs, thus making everyday life more colourful.

All those interested will have the opportunity to see 139 various interesting and exciting programmes, primarily in Morahalom and in Palić, where cultural centres have been open as well with a view to providing a place and space for our minorities to get to know each other better and to get closer to each other. Some of the events and series of programmes will take place in Novi Sad, the city which will bear the title of the European Youth Capital in 2019, and in 2021 - the European Capital of Culture. Thus, by means of presentation of the bordering region between Hungary and Serbia, the broad audience from Europe will have the opportunity to perceive the results of cooperation between our cultures.

During the programme, we will endeavour to present the abundant wealth of the cultures of Hungarians and Serbs, having regard to the needs and interests of all generations. In the fairs, we will have the opportunity to acquaint ourselves with the products and interesting facts about various fields – agriculture, handicrafts, gastronomy, art and tourism. A series of shows will be held with the participation of performers from Hungary and Serbia. The repertoire will encompass comedies, dancing shows, puppet plays for the youngest, and literature lovers will have the opportunity to meet various authors. Through exhibitions and concerts we will have an even better overview of each other’s tradition, religious holidays, customs and celebrations, and in the gastronomic shows we will savour flavours specific for the national cuisines and we will learn how to prepare our neighbour’s traditional meals!

During the programme, we will pay particular attention to our citizens whose life opportunities are limited – the disabled, people in disadvantaged position, the blind and the visually impaired, thus we will organise several literary and music events which they will be able to enjoy as well.

We have set a website that has been adjusted exclusively to the Hungarian and Serbian bordering region, on which we will announce information on the Colourful Cooperation programmes, as well as the news on other events and attractions in the bordering region! Please visit the website www.visithusrb.com, and we are waiting for you on the Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/colourfulcooperation!

We hope that here – in the centre of Europe, on the junction of various religious, ethnological and gastronomic traditions – by means of the implementation of the Colourful Cooperation project, we will give an excellent example of how good neighbourly relations can be preserved, through protecting and fostering our common tradition.
